“Niya”
is a female Rottweiler; she was brought to us at 6 weeks of age
with parvo. She survived after a week of I.V. fluids and medicine,
but the owner never came back to get her and after a month of proper
paper work she was ours. The staff fell in love with her while she
was a sick puppy and we were glad that she was able to stay with
us. She was sick with a critical illness and was put to sleep in
December 2004. Niya is deeply missed.
“Husky” is a male Husky. Kristi’s sister, Kelli,
who worked with us as receptionist and Vet Tech for 6 ½ years,
found him at her apartment complex. He needed a lot of medical attention.
We
treated his problems, did surgery on his eyelid because of a developmental
problem and tried to find him a home for a while, but did not succeed.
We were too picky, so now his home is with us.
“Niya” and “Husky” were best buds.
After Niya passed away we got the opportunity to adopt “Blue”
another Husky from a good client that could no longer keep him.
“Husky” and “Blue” spend their day playing
and relaxing, unless it’s too hot, too cold or too wet. Then
they get to come inside to the air-conditioned comfort and get fed
treats.
“Kitty Kat” is a black female domestic short hair cat
that was rescued by Kelli and Kristi. Kitty Kat had been hit by
a car. We also quickly found out that she was pregnant. After the
kittens were born they were given to good homes. We did surgery
on her leg and now she is good as new, even better. She is queen
of the kennel, has free roam of the treatment room for several hours
of the day. She also has her own bed and scratching post and never
worries about when her next meal will be served.
